Ferrofluidic Seals Technology Background.
Ferrofluidics are stable colloidal suspensions of magnetic particles (≤10nm magnetite, iron …) in a liquid carrier. More generally, it is a state between a liquid (particles ≤2nm) and a suspension (particles ≥200nm).
Ferrofluidics are magnetized fluid which can be controlled by a magnetic field .
In the Semiconductor industry we are using Ferrofluidics properties to realize rotating seals or Feed-thru under high pressure gap.
